"At it's finest, rider and horse are joined not by tack but by trust. Each is totally reliant upon the other. Each is the selfless guardian of the other's very well-being." - Author Unknown
While an equine bodyworker can be an integral part of your horse's wellness team, it is not a substitute for veterinary care. I recommend working with your veterinarian, farrier and chiropractor and any other members of your horse's team to benefit the whole horse.
This past weekend I attended a MMES seminar hosted by Lift Me Up! in Great Falls, VA. Our instructor, Alice Long, introduced us to techniques and movements useful to aid horses in releasing body tension and to facilitate sessions between horses and participants in Equine Assisted Services programs. I am looking forward to entering fieldwork to earn my certification as a Masterson Method Equine Specialist.
